JONATHAN'S ONE-DAY TRIP IN GEORGETOWN & OOTD BLOG
Hello world, my name is Jonathan and in today's blog I will be sharing a few places to visit in George Town, Penang for our assignment purposes. Penang Road and Armenian Street to be exact and we will be bringing our volunteered tourist to help us, their names are Tian Tian & Su Yao and a simple OOTD outfit to share to all of you.

The very first stop is not other than Ban Heang (萬香餅家) which we can buy variety of home made biscuits with lots of flavors. This biscuits also be bought as a souvenirs to give to your friends and family.

Next stop, Roti Bakar Hutton Lane which we head for our breakfast so that we can have the energy for our next visit.They have a lot of variety of food such as roti canai, roti telur, roti bakar and many more. one of their specialty is Roti Bakar Cheese.

The following places where we go is the Octopus Footbridge which link us to our next destination, Chowrasta Market and Penang Teochew Cendol. A brief about this Octopus Footbridge is that is a four-way pedestrian bridge crossing over Penang Road. Built in 1993, it comprises four arms, with access stairs at Penang Road, Burmah Road, Prangin Road and Komtar Walk.

After walking under the scorching weather, we decided to go to the Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendol, some say if you did not try the Chendol, it means that you have not visit Penang before. This chendol stall started way back in the year 1936 which then took over by the sixth son in the year 1977 to improve their business which turn out to be a success.

Next stop, Chowrastaaaaaa Markettttt!!! Chowrasta Market was exist way back in the year 1890 which began bu Tamils from Southern India and was replace with the current Chowrasta Market in the year 1960s. A renovation which began from the year 2013 and end in the early January 2017. A market that sell a lot of things and the special about this market is that on the second floor, there is a few second-hand bookstore that a lot of youngsters will go and buy their missing textbooks. HAHA!!! that includes me.

After Chowrasta Market, we went to Jeruk Madu Pak Ali, which is a store that produce preserved fruits. It started way back on the year 1985 and it is now spread throughout the whole Malaysia.

Next stop, Armenian Street which is a 10 minutes drive away including the traffic from Penang Road. Once we reached Armenian Street, we head to Chew Jetty. Chew Jetty started from as early as the 1900s which is still exist till today. The Chew Jetty is actually a whole settlement of wooden houses built on silts and the name “Chew” (周) is the surname (the first name) of the residences and that’s where the name was derived. Migrant’s families with this surname would live together in this area.

The second last stop for the day is Ming Xiang Tai (名香泰). Ming Xiang Tai started in the year 1979. Traditional handmade pastry from heart to customers mouth. Their vision is to flourish the culture of eating traditional handmade pastry and biscuits to the coming generations.

Last but not least, Armenian Street. Armenian Street is a street in the inner city of George Town and within the core zone of the George Town Unesco World Heritage Site. It derives its name from an Armenian family who once stayed at the junction of the now Armenian Street and Beach Street in the early part of the 19th century. The street is the venue of the weekly Armenian Street Fair.
